Hiking the Earnslaw Burn.

With a 3-day perfect window the week before Christmas, my friend Mark & I tackled the hike to Earnslaw Burn (near Queenstown's Glenorchy). It's not the easiest track this, with a lot of tree-fall, swampy bogs & numerous obstacles, but the rewards of the spectacular scenery make it very worthwhile. Camping in our tents for 2 nights allowed us ample time to really soak it all up - and if you're not up for the hike, you can fly in by helicopter & take a picture beside the waterfall!
