3 of my best

This week I completed a stunning installation of three large canvases to my clients Trish & Barry, in their beautiful new home in Methven. This has been a long journey as I first met them both 6 years ago at Mosaic Gallery in Whitianga, they were touring the North Island & I just happened to be at the gallery the same day! They then contacted me 3 years ago and visited me in Oxford, along with their house plans. They loved a gold framed bush scene "Harmony" I showed them & I had not long returned from the Dusky Track in Fiordland, so presented "Lost In Time" of Lake Roe to them (they had just been on a helicopter tour of Fiordland & had flown over there). We now had the perfect pair of prints for their entrance, they just had to build the house! Having chosen the gold tray frames, I suggested Resene "Dune" would be the perfect colour for their walls & when choosing the stone for their feature wall, they selected colours that would tone in with the same golden hues. Their LED track lighting was carefully recessed into the ceiling & the end result is truly breathtaking (when you look at these photos, you'd think the walls are a different colour, but it's just the way the light is falling onto each wall, which compliments each piece perfectly). Last but not least, my epic pohitukawa beach scene "Slice Of Heaven" graces the wall as you approach the front door. Wow, a very satisfying result & I really enjoyed the whole process. It's one thing to capture these big scenes, but the real reward comes when one sees how it transforms a space & brings so much pleasure to my clients. Happy days!
