“As I drove down the coast from Port Jackson to Colville, I kept a close eye on the evening light as it developed around Auckland's Rangitoto island. Then suddenly, the sun dropped below the clouds & the show was on! I started recording a series of frames & this image was one of the last, after the sun had descended below the horizon. With the intense light, I was unaware of the Auckland Sky Tower's presence until I downloaded the images, which came as a nice surpise! Due to the earth's curvature, only the top of the tower is visible from this distance, but the dramatic light & unique perspective created this striking composition.”
