Peter's World

"Piha Aroha"

“After successfully capturing a moonrise in ‘Rangitoto Kowhiti’, I decided to try & record a moonset the same night. Guessing that Piha’s Lion Rock might offer a unique composition, I returned home, packed my sleeping bag & headed west, camping with my dog on the beach! I woke at 4am to start shooting & at 5.56am I recorded this image whilst the moon’s intensity was still bright. Thirty minutes later, the sun began to rise in the east & it was fascinating to watch how quickly the moon’s luminance diminished.”

“When Peter delivered our pieces, we couldn't believe the incredible detail. The images on his website - impressive as they are - really didn't do our prints justice!“
