"Slice Of Heaven"

"I previously visited this coastal treasure in mid-December some years prior, but on that visit I didn't quite exploit the full potential of this view. Advance 5 years & it was time for another attempt! I made a reconnaissance trip to check the Pohutukawa flowers the week before, but they were a little later this year & needed more time to develop. Another week ought to do it I thought, but when I arrived there was heavy cloud, bugger! I decided to stay & see what the weather might do...over several hours an off-shore breeze dispersed the clouds, then the wind & sea gradually calmed & conditions slowly improved, this sensational afternoon gradually unfolded. The way the sunlight was backlighting the Pohutukawa blooms is quite stunning, it really highlights their fragile beauty. I can honestly say this scene is a little 'Slice Of Heaven'."
