Peter's World

"All That Glitters"

The shores of Lake Pukaki in the Mc Kenzie Country offered this magnificent setting with clear views towards the Southern Alps and Mt. Cook at the head of the lake, in the distance. Autumn is a beautiful time of year to visit the southern regions and in my experience, I find that the weather is usually more settled as well. I captured this scene late in the day as the early evening's sun sparkled through these perfectly ripened poplar leaves. With the strong backlight of the sun shining through them, they were truly golden. It affirms to me that all that glitters, really is gold!!
